The Kids Matters team may be the place for you, to help you consolidate your knowledge and skills and grow.

About the position

  • You are supported to provide quality OT to children in both the clinic and the community.
  • You will have your own desk and place to nest with plenty of opportunities to connect with your colleagues on a regular basis.
  • We offer some flexibility for you setting up a schedule and keep community visits within a tight geographical radius.
  • You will need your own car and all travel costs will be reimbursed as per government guidelines.

You grow as a therapist in knowledge and skill through training on the job with ample opportunities for informal mentoring and support within the clinic. 

We are well resourced with sensory gyms, treatment rooms and offices so you have the tools you need to do an amazing job. This gives the flexibility to see many kinds of kids.

All new therapists have the opportunity to settle into the caseload at a reasonable pace and are supported to manage their own diary and caseload. Any less experienced therapists will be supported with intensive training to build knowledge and skills as their primary focus.

About the position

Accelerate your learning through our new graduate program designed to train you in the application of key paediatric OT theories and knowledge so you can confidently do quality OT with kids and families.

Be supported with weekly supervision, group mentoring and customised training in sensory processing, behaviour management, executive functioning, play, and more – valued at over $31 685 in addition to your wage. In addition, we allow plenty of time for informal collaboration and learning.

We commenced our new graduate program in 2018 and have supported the development of many young therapists since that time.

Our program supports you through an induction process; allowing for work shadowing, individual mentoring, training, and a gradual phase in of clients. KPIs are gradually increased but always manageable so you complete your work at work.

We give you flexibility and choice to suit your personal life and work goals, offering a range of service delivery options including:
– Face to face (in clinic)
– Telehealth rural and remote
– Kindy and home visiting
