The Kids Matters team may be the place for you, to help you consolidate your knowledge and skills and grow. You grow as a therapist in knowledge and skill through training on the job with ample opportunities for informal mentoring and support within the clinic. We are well resourced with sensory gyms, treatment rooms and offices so you have the tools you need to do an amazing job. This gives the flexibility to see many kinds of kids. All new therapists have the opportunity to settle into the caseload at a reasonable pace and are supported to manage their own diary and caseload. Any less experienced therapists will be supported with intensive training to build knowledge and skills as their primary focus. We have 5 new and recent graduate positions in our highly structured new grad program coming up in January 2023 (or before) across our Yeerongpilly, Greenslopes and Aspley teams as we expand our services. Accelerate your learning through our new graduate program designed to train you in the application of key paediatric OT theories and knowledge so you can confidently do quality OT with kids and families. Be supported with weekly supervision, group mentoring and customised training in sensory processing, behaviour management, executive functioning, play, and more – valued at over $31 685 in addition to your wage. In addition, we allow plenty of time for informal collaboration and learning. We commenced our new graduate program in 2018 and have supported the development of many young therapists since that time. Our program supports you through an induction process; allowing for work shadowing, individual mentoring, training, and a gradual phase in of clients. KPIs are gradually increased but always manageable so you complete your work at work.
