Bonnie Robertson

Bonnie is a friendly, enthusiastic occupational therapist who brings warmth, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children and families. Bonnie graduated from Curtin University in Perth with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours).

Bonnie’s draw to working with children began long before she entered the clinic, growing up alongside younger family members and supporting children through swim lessons and babysitting.

Bonnie has experience working with a variety of children and families in clinic, at their homes, and school settings. Bonnie has experience with the following challenges:

• Autism
• ADHD
• Executive functioning differences
• Social connection and friendship development
• Handwriting difficulties
• Emotional regulation and wellbeing
• Fine motor difficulties
• Gross motor difficulties

Bonnie has completed the following training:

• DIR Floortime 101: An Introduction to DIR and DIR Floortime

Bonnie values a family-centred approach to therapy, taking the time to get to know each child and family as individuals before working collaboratively to set meaningful, achievable goals. She believes therapy works best when children feel genuinely engaged, so she incorporates each child’s interests and ideas into sessions to keep things fun, motivating, and relevant to their world.

Bonnie works closely with parents throughout the therapeutic process, ensuring families feel informed, supported, and equipped with practical strategies they can carry through into everyday life at home and school. She is committed to evidence-informed practice and continues to develop her clinical skills to ensure the children she works with receive the best possible support.

Bonnie was born and raised in Perth, and relocated to Brisbane in 2024. She loves going to new places and keeping active outdoors. Bonnie has grown up alongside younger cousins and siblings, which drove her to work with children.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts you or the therapist may find that you are not a good fit. If your therapist feels that he or she is not best suited to you, he/ she will discuss this with you and recommend a more appropriate therapist.

If you feel that your therapist is not a good fit, simply discuss this with our admin team who will find a more suitable therapist.
