3 year old boy with limited fine motor, play and communication skills
Boy could not play with toys and refused to engage in fine motor activities.
3 year old boy from a cultural background. Parents able to complete ideas in everyday life but could not get child to engage in “therapy exercises”.
This boy had a global development delay. He did not have sensory issues.
Weekly developmental treatment including exposure and support in play-based therapy to engage in play and fine motor skills. (He also received separate speech pathology treatment).
His parents chose to delay school entry. Within 2 years of OT and Speech therapy treatment, this boy was able to engage within a normal pre-prep program and keep up with his peers. He was discharged from OT.
