Medha Khadye is an extremely experienced OT. She has been working as an OT in Australia since 2005 and before that worked in India as an OT since 1983. Medha has been working at Kids Matters OT since it began in 2005 and has strong foundations in many areas of OT including (but not limited to) sensory processing, Neuro-Developmental Treatment and working with children with anxiety.

She also has extensive experience of working with children from different cultural backgrounds in India and Australia. She graduated as an OT from Bombay University in 1983 and has worked with children since then. Medha has also completed her master’s program from the University of Queensland on “Parent Satisfaction with Early Intervention Services” and is passionate about providing family-centred intervention.

Medha has worked with children aged 0-18 years but predominantly works with age 0-6 years. She has worked in special schools, hospitals (India), therapy clinic and at early intervention sevices. Medha’s experience with children’s issues includes but is not limited to:

Medha is a very warm and engaging therapist who adores working with children. She is passionate about family centred therapy and brings her extensive life and multi-disciplinary experience into sessions. She has a very structured approach to therapy using a range of age-appropriate play-based intervention and exercises combined with firm but fair behavioural strategies. She follows the children’s lead according to where they are at on any particular developmental level and supports them to master that level and beyond.

She has shown wonderful results with children with multiple and severe impairments to maximise their potential and helping them significantly improve the quality of life for them and their families.

Medha loves working with children with multiple and severe impairments and syndromes and they love her too. She also loves children with Autism taking a very structured teaching approach. She has a passion for social skills training, school readiness, feeding and toileting. She also has a strong foundation in sensory processing and NDT and is very experienced in working with children with anxiety. Medha works with all ages especially 0-6 years. Her firm and direct approach is appreciated by many as they always know where they stand.

Medha is originally from Mumbai, India where she worked with people of all different cultural backgrounds as she continues to do in Australia. Medha uses a culturally sensitive approach in her therapy. Medha is fluent in 3 Indian languages and English.

Medha is fluent in 4 languages: 3 Indian languages as well as English. In her spare time, Medha likes going for walks. She loves nature and likes to go spotting for whales and dolphins.

Sometimes, despite our best efforts you or the therapist may find that you are not a good fit. If your therapist feels that he or she is not best suited to you, he/ she will discuss this with you and recommend a more appropriate therapist.

If you feel that your therapist is not a good fit within the first three sessions, simply discuss this with our admin team who will find a more suitable therapist.
