5 year old boy having ‘meltdowns’, difficulties feeding & making friends
Frequent meltdowns, sensory seeking behaviour, feeding difficulties, difficulty making friends, frequent complaints from the teacher regarding difficulty completing school work.
5 year old male, youngest in the prep class.
Auditory processing difficulties and low registration of sensory information. Oral sensory difficulties with low tone in oral muscles. Low muscle tone and immature pencil grip.
Sensory motor intervention, parent education, working along with school to implement sensory diet, and use of visual calendar both at home and school.
When he follows his sensory diet, the child can cope with school tasks. He is independent in his self-cares using visual calendar.
